Our Story

Swarna and Praveen Kumar welcome you to an authentic Indian dining experience at Tabla Indian Restaurant, Perth.

Joining together their passion for good and simple food they were both born and brought up in rural villages in India, where every meal of the day is freshly made using ingredients grown in local fields.

At Tabla we do the same. Even today, all the spices we use are grown in our family’s fields in India. Most of our meat & seafood is sourced from Perthshire and our vegetables are grown by Farmer John at Tabla Market Garden in Perthshire. We then carefully prepare everything to perfection to make the best authentic Indian cuisine – just as we like it in India.

Praveen has gained a great wealth of food and restaurant management skills from his 15 years working at Gleneagles and Turnberry Hotels in Scotland, Sandals Resort in Jamaica and Park Hotels in India.

  • “World Cuisine Chef of the year 2018” at Scottish food and drinks awards
